Organization Overview

Led by Dr. Richard P. Lifton, as The Rockefeller University's 11th president, the Office of the President (OoP) supports activities to advance the University's mission, science for the benefit of humanity.
Overview

Reporting to the President, this position serves as a key member of the Office of the President (OoP) and, in close coordination with the Executive Assistant to the President, provides high-level administrative support to perform a diverse range of responsibilities.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Works closely with the President and Executive Assistant to support all aspects of day-to-day operations. This role serves as an engaging front-facing member of the OoP.
  • Manages and maintains the President's calendar using knowledge of the President's scope of responsibilities, priorities, and commitments. Needs to be proactive in anticipating needs and avoiding potential scheduling conflicts.
  • Arranges all travel in accordance with the President's preferences. Prepares travel itineraries and coordinates logistics with attention to detail.
  • Collects and organizes all meeting materials for the President's review.
  • Schedules in-person and virtual meetings; arranges room setup and catering/audio-visual needs as necessary.
  • Serves as contact for internal and external constituencies.
  • Provides administrative support to the President and others for matters related to the President's research laboratory as needed.
  • Restocks office equipment and supplies and serves as a backup to all members of the OoP team when necessary.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience.

Must be proficient in PC platforms, including MS Office Suite.

Strong technical proficiency and quantitative skills are required. Strong writing and copy editing.

Must have the discretion to handle confidential information.

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are essential.

The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task and work independently with a keen eye for customer service. Initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail are critical.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in an academic or research institution is strongly preferred.

USD $70,000.00/Yr.
Compensation Range: Max

USD $80,000.00/Yr.
