Description
SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close
procedures, preparing financial reports, supporting various departments accounting needs, and contributing to special
projects as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Assist with monthly closings and preparations of monthly financial statements
• Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts
• Responsible for recording, tracking, and amortizing prepaid expenses
• Manages and prepares monthly utility accruals and analyze utility trends
• Responsible for handling financial transactions, records, and reporting related to insurance premiums,
claims, and worker's compensation. Creates and provides monthly reporting for insurance and workers
comp accounting tasks
• Provide accounting support to various departments
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives
• Thoroughly analyze financial data and identify variances for month end and year end functions
• Assist with ad-hoc analysis during the month end and other projects as needed
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required
• 2-3 years of accounting experience is required
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
• ERP system experience is not required but is preferred
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, such as V-look-up, Pivot tables, Sumifs is required
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required
• Demonstrates ability to meet deadlines (e.g. prior companies)
• Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrates ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
• Engaged in the culture finding efficiencies, utilizing technology
• Able to interact with various levels and functions throughout the organization
