Title: Chief Mammography Technologist

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Diagnostic Radiology Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Directs and coordinates the day to day technical activities of the Mammography Center; establishes and maintains federally-mandated policies and procedures for the performance of mammography and related services; maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards programs: Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), American College of Radiology (ACR), Joint Commission: Accreditation, Health Care, Certification (JCAHO), and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH); coordinates activities and patient flow with multidisciplinary clinics within the organization, referring physicians and patients outside of the organization; oversees the daily work of Senior Mammography Technologists and Mammography Technologists. Qualifications: Required Education and ExperienceLicense and Certification Requirement
1. License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of New York; and
2. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification with advanced certification in mammography.
3. Current Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Mammography Technologist including one (1) year in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or
2. Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience as a Mammography Technologist including one (1) year in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity.
NOTE:
1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain the certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within ninety (90) days of their appointment to this title.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ARRT certification in mammography
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mammography
or related imaging modalities - Maintains certification through ongoing education and
- training, including specific training in MQSA
requirements. - Experience performing a wide range of
- mammography procedures, including screening,
diagnostic, and advanced protocols, ex. biopsies and
seed/wire locs. - Experience managing regulatory compliance, including MQSA and ACR guidelines.
- Minimum of 1 year leadership experience.
