1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Clinical Research Associate – Exercise Intervention (Respiratory Muscle Training Study)The Department of Cancer Prevention and Control is seeking a motivated Clinical Research Associate (CRA) to support a remote exercise intervention study evaluating Respiratory Muscle Training (RMT) among lung cancer patients across New York State. This research focuses on lung cancer survivors who have completed active cancer treatment and are participating in a supportive-care exercise program. The CRA will play a central role in participant consent and engagement, intervention delivery, and data management for this statewide cancer survivorship study.
The CRA will manage day-to-day study operations, including participant screening and enrollment, conducting remote exercise study visits, and overseeing all aspects of participant tracking, data collection, and management. This role requires strong experience working directly with study participants, excellent communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail in data collection, entry, and organization. The CRA will interact daily with study participants and must be able to provide clear, supportive guidance throughout the intervention.
The starting annual salary for this position is $53,357 which includes a comprehensive benefits package. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
1. Associate's degree; or
2. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and two (2) years of clinical research, healthcare or other related experience.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- Certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or similar.
- Experience conducting remote exercise or behavioral intervention research.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with study participants, including screening, consenting, coaching, and follow-up.
- Proficiency in data collection, data management, and data entry, including familiarity with REDCap, ACCESS, or statistical programs.
- Strong written communication skills and excellent organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of Respiratory Muscle Training, pulmonary rehabilitation, or spirometry is highly desirable.
