Title: Research Technologist (Koren Wet Lab Lead)

1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: The Koren lab at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center uses genomic and computational approaches to study DNA replication timing and mutagenesis. The lab focuses on human cells and populations and on various types of cancer. We develop methods for measuring genome-wide DNA replication dynamics at large scale in various cell samples as well as in single cells. More information is available at www.thekorenlab.org.

The Research Technologist will perform molecular biology, genetics and genomics experiments in support of multiple projects, and will also manage routine lab operations including ordering and stocking supplies, maintaining lab equipment and chemical hygiene, and being responsible for lab safety. He/she will work with other members of the lab as well as independently on various experimental projects, will help train new lab members, and will collaborate with other labs at Roswell Park and in other institutions. Experience with molecular biology and/or genetics techniques, and ability to lead experimental projects independently are required. Familiarity and/or interest in learning basic computational data analysis is a plus.

Salary range for this position is $48,515 - $61,525 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
1. Master's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline; or
2. Bachelor's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have their degree in biology or related field, experience with molecular biology/genetics/genomics methods, experience working in an experimental biology lab and conducting experiments under supervision as well as independently, and the ability to keep records, follow protocols and procedures, communicate effectively, collaborate and train others.
