Position Description

The Telecom Technician will provide telecom support to large Ryder facility and field sites. Technician will be the sole telecom person supporting all telecom needs of building.

We are looking for candidates who have the following skills:

  • General contact center experience and knowledge – skills-based routing
  • Capability to work with the local business leaders to discuss initiatives, set realistic expectations, and work projects
  • Self-motivated.
  • Great communicator, team player, excellent organization and documentation skills, customer centric
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Basic networking skills and VoIP knowledge
  • Strong vendor management skills
  • Cloud support experience


Requirements

  • Associate's degree in related field
  • Ten (10) years or more experience in Telecom supporting PBX both TDM and VoIP
  • PBX and Call Center support
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors). Must work with various management levels
  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision. Must be self starter and self managed and work as part of a team as well
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Detailed oriented with excellent follow-up practices
  • Must be organized, display strong initiative and strong documentation skills
  • Open to new technology in near future
  • VoIP knowledge (advanced level)
  • PBX knowledge (advanced level)
  • Call center administration skills (advanced level) preferred


Responsibilities

  • Administer and support all telecom needs at assigned Ryder facility. Phone systems vary by facility and can include Avaya, Nortel, Unify, ShoreTel. Some support of field sites will be expected
  • Support call center activity – gather requirements from business owners, build, implement and support administrative needs
  • Work projects – support projects introduced by the business or IT
  • Support daily operations at assigned facility including working trouble tickets as well as moves, adds, and changes
  • Set up Video Conferencing for business as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
