SAIC is seeking an Air Traffic Control (ATC) Specialist to support our FAA customer. The successful candidate will serve as a senior level ATC system specialist to assist the Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS) program office in sustaining system operations and strategic planning activities for Decision Support Systems.
Note: This is a part-time position (up to 50%).
Responsibilities include:
- Providing ATC expertise to aid in the definition, planning and development of TFMS sustainment requirements and release content.
- Supporting acquisition planning and management activities, including the review and development of Acquisition Management System (AMS) documentation.
- Facilitate the activities between the TFMS staff, its vendor, and FAA facilities.
- Review vendor designs and provide recommendations based on air traffic needs and operations.
- Support the integration of TFMS with other decision support systems, including TBFM and TFDM.
- Some travel may be required (up to 10%).
Qualifications
Requirements:
- A BA/BS degree in an air traffic related field.
- Minimum of 30 years of ATC full performance level (FPL) experience or equivalent (e.g. military controller, contract tower, commercial dispatch operations, etc.).
- Understanding of the FAA's automation and traffic management systems.
- Excellent communication skills using both technical and non-technical language.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to identify and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of system investments.
- Ability to satisfy FAA resume and Public Trust security requirements, Citizenship required.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
