SAIC has an opening for an experienced Mainframe Analyst who will be required to respond to end-user requests for assistance. Expertise in mainframe languages like COBOL, JCL, and DB2, along with EDI mapping (using standards like ANSI X12) and integration with internal systems. Experience with both Financial and Healthcare EDI transactions using the Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 standards. Excellent customer service skills and critical thinking required to be successful. The candidate must possess effective communication skills, have an attention to detail, and be willing to work as part of an integrated team consisting of both government and contractor personnel.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and Support processing of EDI transactions using the Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12.
- Finance and Supply Chain standards, 850,855,860,865, and 820 transaction sets.
- Experience with Cobol
- Experience with JCL and TSO
- Ability to modify job control languages
- Knowledge of VSAM files
- Knowledge of SAAS
- Perform application monitoring across various platforms such as Mainframe,
- Monitor EDI transactions and troubleshoot errors messages.
- Identify and resolve problems related to EDI processes and applications.
- Provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documentation following system outages and critical incidents.
- Prepare all documents according to required guidelines, update and create procedures to keep documentation current.
Able to identify and organize tickets according to priority, and close tickets within SLA.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science or Finance related discipline is preferred and 5 years' experience in the EDI Financial field. 8 years additional relevant experience may be substituted for education if no degree.
- Experience with TLE and or Gentran mapping tools
- Understanding the financial procurement process
- Knowledge of Medical claims processing
- Provide excellent customer service experience.
- Experience in SQL Server.
- Work closely, coordinate and communicate with customers, vendors and trading partners (e.g. commercial vendors, utility providers), IT and change requestors. Log requests in ServiceNow or other ticketing systems
- Provide support to all client issues and document standard operating procedures according to data requirements.
- Provide ticket statuses to customers or requestors on a regular interval until ticket is resolved.
- Coordinate activities including on-time delivery, testing and production deployments.
- Participate in change management, disaster recovery and provide Tier 2 or 3 level production support operations.
Preferred Experience:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Capable to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
- Experience providing services to the federal government and/or the Dept. of Veterans' Affairs is preferred.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
