SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician III  in Bedford, IN to support the U.S. Navy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will inspect machined parts to verify that parts comply visually and dimensionally. Using measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gage pins, thread gages,…, etc., the person in this position will inspect dimensions provided on the drawing to verify the quality of the machined part. This position is responsible for creating inspection reports by collecting and summarizing data and assisting with packaging and shipping completed parts.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent and 0 years of experience
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; not needed to start
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must be able to read blueprints
• Must have an understanding of GD&T (Geometric, dimensioning and tolerancing)
• Must be able to pay high attention to detail
• Experience accurately measuring within specified tolerances
• Must be able to accurately use measuring equipment (calipers, protractor, tape measure, etc.)
• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and other employees
• Must be proficient with identification of hand tools and their proper use
• Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs
