SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Hardware Engineer to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, the Hardware Engineer is responsible for responsive and coherent planning, development, and delivery of PARCS and UEWR assessment of systems and networks within the environments to identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.  This position may include work in our fast-paced Special Projects section for rapid capabilities development and sustainment.

Job Duties

  • Perform electrical and mechanical (signal, power & thermal) analysis at the rack level.
  • Generation of engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams and custom cable assemblies
  • Analysis of supplier LRUs, including step-file and 3D model review and compliance to specifications
  • Ability to support system integration, test, development, and execution of various types of complex communications systems
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
  • Provide lab and site integration, test, and maintenance support
  • Participate in troubleshooting systems to resolve complex issues, interact, and coordinate with engineers responsible for sustaining sub-systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and five plus (5+) years' experience. Four plus (4+) years' experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance 
  • Experience in designing new or modifying existing products, developing technical specifications for production, analyzing hardware configuration and processing solutions, and testing hardware conformance to specifications

Desired 

  • Experience sustaining PARCS, or other Strategic Warning and Surveillance radar systems such as PAVE PAWS and UEWR
  • Knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission and associated enterprise

Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
