SAIC has an immediate opening for a full-time Accountant. This position supports high visibility customer activities that are critical to national security. In this role you will be responsible for assessing technical accounting requirements for a variety of complex transactions; implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); recommending and implementing industry best practices; and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are maintained for all relevant process areas. This position is located in Sterling, VA and requires background screening and successful processing for a Top Secret security clearance.
In this role responsibilities include:
- Perform technical accounting research on transactions of substantial size
- Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reporting and executive summaries
- Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements and determine impacts
- Provide analysis and support to external auditors
- Perform corporate tax analysis and review of federal state and local tax filings
Qualifications
- Must have obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution prior to starting this position
- 3 years of related experience, which can be professional or academic
- Must be able to complete and obtain a TS/SCI and Poly security clearance processing prior to starting
- A strong interest in performing technical accounting research over a broad range of topics
- Ability to navigate and interpret relevant authoritative literature to evaluate and recommend solutions
- Exceptional communication skills
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to conduct domestic travel
Desired Experience: - Internship with one of the Big 4 public accounting firms (Audit)
- Certified Public Accountant
- Master's Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Experience in forensic accounting to include anti-money laundering activities
