SAIC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Project Manager for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) major systems. This program will be part of a transformative venture, driving the future of next generation ice-breakers and enhancing the Navy and Coast Guard's polar mission effectiveness in response to evolving strategic and environmental demands.
Job Summary: This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who possess foundational project management skills and have experience working with DoD electronics and communications systems and equipment, particularly in C4ISR or C5ISR domains.
This position is contingent upon an award expected in November 2025. It is hybrid-remote with weekly onsite requirements in Pascagoula, MS. Candidates must be local to the area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support project management of Level of Effort type task orders including stage 4 and 5 test procedures development and test execution project for USCG Polar Support Cutter C5ISR systems.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and managing projects from inception through completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Collaborate with senior project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Provide support in the integration and testing of C4ISR or C5ISR systems and ensure they meet operational requirements.
- Monitor and track project progress, deliverables, and timelines, reporting any issues or deviations to senior management.
- Support the coordination of internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Facilitate effective communication and serve as a liaison among project team members, ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed of project status and changes.
- Contribute to risk management and mitigation activities.
- Assist in preparing project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and status reports.
- Participate in regular project meetings and document minutes and action items.
Qualifications
Clearance Qualifications:
- Active Secret clearance
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Valid US Passport
Skill & Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Three (3) years experience with DoD electronics and communications systems and equipment, with a specific focus on C4ISR or C5ISR.
- Some experience (1-3 years) in project management or a related role, preferably within the DoD sector.
- Basic understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in project management software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Entry-level certification(s) in project management (e.g., CAPM).
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry, particularly with defense-related projects.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations within the DoD framework.
- Specific experience with shipboard Communication Cabinets, Gyrocompass Systems, Integrated Bridge Systems, Interior Communications (Alarms, Safety, Warning Systems), Military enhanced Global Positioning System, Navigation Data Distribution Systems, Unclass LAN, SIPRNET, and Surface Search Radar is highly desirable
- Experience with MIL-STD-2106 Development of Shipboard Industrial Test procedures
