SAIC is seeking a Records and Information Management Specialist to provide full time support on-site in working as part of contract team with the DoD Office of the General Counsel (OGC).
The Specialist will:

- Assist the Component Records Management Officer (CRMO) developing and maintain current program directives outlining policies, procedures, and guidance relating to the maintenance, retention, preservation, and disposition of records ensuring that policy imposed by higher authority is implemented.
- Function as the technical expert on records management policies, systems, procedures and activities for the respective office.
- Assist the CRMO with overseeing Record Liaisons (RL) duties.
- Develop required record management documents for respective office.
- Follow record management policies and procedures in accordance with required records management guidelines and regulations.
- Understand and implement various ERM software, such as document management systems (DMS), content management systems (CMS), and enterprise content management (ECM) platforms.
- Ensure records are archived appropriately when no longer used but still required for legal and/or historical purposes.
- Utilize skills in data organization, database structures, querying languages, classification, retrieval, and metadata management.
- Maintain responsibility for records retention, disposition, and transfers, annual inspection of files and file plans.
- Ensure responsibility for awareness of security requirements and procedures for properly handling and storing/archiving unclassified and classified records.
- Be responsible for meeting all record management annual requirements.
- Arrange and categorize documents for digitizing.
- Implement strategies for protecting records in case of data loss, emergencies, and ensuring continuity of operations.
- Provide training and/or instruction to personnel on records management and best practices and procedures.
- Coordinate with RLS to ensure that incoming and departing personnel receive and complete the required documents and briefings.
- Codify and categorize documents for digital files.
Qualifications
Experience/Skills Requirement
· Three (3) years of experience relevant with NARA and DoD records management procedures and with records management software applications.
· Experience with security requirements and procedures for properly handling and storing/archiving unclassified and classified records.
· Understanding of DoD, Joint Staff, and the Military Departments standards of practice.
· The ability to leverage established relationships with other DoD components and agencies.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and common office software applications
· Flexible team player and capable of interacting at all levels within the customer space as well as other parts of the defense community.
· Flexibility to accommodate time-sensitive and mission-critical work.
