SAIC is seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) in support of our Department of the Air Force customer. The ideal candidate has experience leading end to end software release processes in support of CI/CD pipelines, leading agile processes, and supporting large distributed compute platforms.

SAIC is the premier Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) integrator with expertise in transforming legacy command and control systems into a modern hybrid cloud environment to accelerate decision making and increase mission success. This next generation approach shall employ the latest advancements across the technology spectrum and distributed architectures to deliver a cutting-edge approach.

We are seeking a high energy, detail-oriented and highly organized RTE to join our dynamic team. As an RTE, you will play a critical role in ensuring that software updates and new releases are delivered seamlessly and efficiently. This position is located ONSITE in Colorado Springs, CO.

Job Responsibilities:

· Coordinate and manage the end-to-end software release process, including planning, scheduling, and executing releases.

· Collaborate with development teams, QA, and operations teams to ensure successful release delivery.

· Monitor and manage the progress of software releases, identifying and mitigating risks and issues.

· Ensure that all release-related activities comply with established government policies, processes, and standards.

· Conduct post-release reviews and gather feedback to identify areas for improvement in the release management process.

· Facilitate release readiness reviews and deployment planning meetings with cross-functional teams.

· Maintain a comprehensive release calendar that outlines planned releases and key milestones.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the release management process.

Qualifications

Required Education:

· Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years or more experience; Master's degree and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

Desired Education:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Required Qualifications:

· Minimum of 4 years of experience in software release management, configuration management, or a related field.

· Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence tools

· Proficiency with release management tools and version control systems

· Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

· Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.

· Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.

· Knowledge of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) practices and tools.

· Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.

· Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.

Desired Qualifications:

· Certification in release management or related disciplines.

· Experience working in a DevOps environment.

· Familiarity with ITIL processes and practices.

· U.S. Citizen

· TS/SCI Security Clearance


Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
