SAIC is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team of professionals providing technical and program services to the Space and Intelligence Group. SAIC provides research, engineering, design, analysis, acquisition, development, integration, test, and operations support to USG Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support development and delivery of next generation and generation after next national security systems based on land, at sea, in air, and in space.
The Data Scientist will support the NRO's Advanced Systems and Technology (AS&T) Directorate, which researches and develops the nation's most advanced technology for space-based Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems. This individual will provide comprehensive technical support across multiple domains, with a focus on data science, portfolio management, and knowledge management. This role is integral to enhancing AS&T's technological capabilities and strategic decision-making processes.
The primary functions of the candidate will include, but are not limited to:
• Design and execute advanced data science solutions for technical evaluation and decision support
• Manage complex technology portfolios across multiple acquisition programs
• Establish and maintain sophisticated knowledge and portfolio management systems
• Conduct comprehensive technical assessments and feasibility studies
• Contribute to complex system integration and architectural design processes
• Deliver detailed technical documentation and comprehensive reporting
The Data Scientist will independently evaluate AS&T program artifacts and provide reports and briefings that inform current and future AS&T programs on data needs, data trends, data management tools, industry best practices, emerging technologies, and how data centricity and integration can maximize data utility, security and storage while minimizing costs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD and four (4) years or more experience.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Poly
- Proven expertise in data science methodologies and advanced analytics
- Understanding of government acquisition processes and technical evaluation frameworks
- Strong portfolio and knowledge management implementation experience
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders
- Experience story-telling with data and visualizations
