SAIC is seeking a Software Systems Engineer Principal to contribute in systems development & deployment, processing & analysis, systems engineering & integration, and training capabilities and solutions in support of Navy unmanned systems. We are seeking an innovative and dedicated professional to fulfill their career goals and objectives while delivering mission excellence.
Daily work will be conducted onsite at the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC) located in San Diego, California.
This position is contingent upon award news expected in early 2024.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides coordination, planning, and execution of systems engineering analysis, design, modeling, and support for software systems and applications deployed aboard unmanned vehicles and shore based operation centers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains awareness and oversight of each integration endpoint ensuring requirements development packages (RDP) are compliant to standards where applicable, perform design architecture tasks and vehicle system engineering, and serve as integration POCs for software/application customer and stakeholder efforts.
- Helps to establish and execute the product integration roadmap development, requirements discussions and definition, development/pipeline feature creation, and software bug reporting resolution as well as supporting various reviews, TEMs, and working groups.
- Defines, implements, and applies Systems Modeling Language (SYSML)/Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach in support of software and application development.
- Leads, oversees, and conducts systems engineering functions such as system development and documentation to Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), Interface Design Specifications (IDS), and Technical reports or papers of the systems being develop and fielded.
- Identifies the need, generates, and processes Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and Interface Change Proposals (ICP) to enhance requirements in system software and applications.
- Evaluates, verifies, and validates software to interface with the host-unmanned platform systems.
- Coordinates software development using Continuous Deployment, Agile, and Development and Operations (DevOps) methodologies enabling continuous development and test.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors and 9 years of related experience
- Active Secret Clearance (interim Secret acceptable to start)
- Experience creating and maintaining system models using SysML
- Experience implementing, managing, and maintaining MBSE approaches and environments
- Experience conducting work using DevOps and Agile methodologies
- Experience with development, field integration, and testing of software systems
- Experience developing technical documents and configuration management
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities with technical and programmatic teammates
- Desired experience with unmanned systems support and operations
Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
