This position supports the Joint Fires Network (JFN), Distributed Experimentation Environment (DE2) and Vanguard Force DevOps Environment (VFDE) -  These OUSD R&E, DARPA and TRMC initiatives are designed to leverage Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) experimentation in developing advanced warfighter architectures and CONOPS and link sensors and weapons platforms in times of critical conflict around the globe.

The candidate will provide technical support to improve Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) capabilities through the development and continuous improvement of the JFN Prototype, DE2 and VFDE systems.

Contractor support shall support all facets of the systems integration of the JFN Prototype, DE2 and VFDE baselines including: systems engineering,  cybersecurity, hardware and software, exploitation, and Battlespace Management and Command and Control (BMC2) capabilities across all warfare domains.

The position is based in San Diego, CA at NIWC Pacific.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

In support of the VFDE Depot IPT as a JFN Hardware/Network Engineer (Sr. Principal) the candidate will work directly with customers in a technical role to:

• Participate in JFN Prototype Deployment and Implementation planning with customers

• Perform installation and setup of JFN system of systems hardware from bare metal to platform base OS

• Develop, Sustain and Maintain Compute Hardware and Networking solutions to meet JFN requirements

• Deploy JFN Prototype Systems at the Customer's direction

• Produce customer documentation to support custom applications

• Contribute technical content and tutorials to product documentation

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more of related experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more of related experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more of related experience. Experience can be substituted in lieu of degree

• Required: Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a poly

• Desired:  Experience with Software Development Management Tools such as JIRA and Confluence

• Domain experience with DoD Systems Engineering best practices (e.g. DODAF, Digital Twin)

• Strong attention to detail with exceptional time management and communication skills  

• Excellent writing skills required for preparation of process documentation, deliverables, and other work products

• Self-starter with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced collaborative environment

• US Citizen

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
