SAIC's National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently seeking a Technical Director with a strong desire to enhance space resiliency for a customer within the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Chantilly, VA. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. The Technical Director acts as the primary arm of the SAIC Director of Resiliency Programs in a technical capacity for planning, execution, integration, monitoring, and oversight of resiliency systems development and acquisitions that advance the National Reconnaissance Office's (NRO) space resiliency posture. The Technical Director is an individual contributor and member of a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that works to support the Government through lifecycle systems engineering and management processes to deliver desired capabilities and meet overall program objectives.
Specifically, the Technical Director will serve as on-site SETA to:
- Act as primary SETA counterpart to Government Technical Director
- Perform technical studies, analyses, modeling and simulations at Government Senior Leader direction
- Advise the Government on future application of emerging technologies and CONOPs in response to evolving threats
- Assists the Government in developing concept of operations (CONOPS) and approaches to employment of resiliency techniques
- Assist the Government with integration and coordination of SETA activities across the offices and SPOs
- Participates/Lead technical interchange meetings between offices and SPOs
- Assist the Government with coordination and cooperation on missions, demos, CONOPs and technology/integration with IC and DoD Mission Partners
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree and 18 years or more experience; OR Masters and 16 years or more experience in space missions related to NRO or DoD Space Control
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Familiarity with space control concepts and orbit analysis
- Experience with Payload designs, RF and/or Optical
- Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications, MatLab, and optical modeling software
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with foreign threats to US space missions
- Familiarity with Acquisition Lifecycle
- Experience with Model and Simulation Architectures
- Familiarity with resiliency technologies and CONOPs for space missions
