SAIC is seeking a highly skilled US Air Force Air Operations Center (AOC) SME to support the AOC Weapons System Falconer Program. This role combines expertise in military air operations, mission-critical Command and Control (C2) systems across various USAF Combat Air Forces (CAF) AOCs worldwide along, with understanding of Air Force programmatic, technical and acquisition processes and systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert support to the AOC Weapons System Falconer Program, leveraging extensive knowledge of military air operations and Command and Control (C2) systems.

  • Utilize in-depth expertise as an aviator, intelligence specialist, Air Battle Manager (ABM), or cybersecurity specialist to enhance the effectiveness and reliability of AOC operations.

  • Oversee the management and integration of mission-critical C2 systems within various USAF Combat Air Forces (CAF) AOCs worldwide, ensuring seamless operations and mission readiness.

  • Apply extensive experience gained from working in multiple CAF AOCs, including branch chief experience in Combat Operations, Combat Plans, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Division (ISRD), or Strategy Division, to optimize AOC processes.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) processes and procedures, supporting the execution of the Air Tasking Order (ATO) and Airspace Control Order (ACO).

  • Demonstrate proficiency with US Air Force and joint service command and control (C2) operations and intelligence systems, including AOC applications such as GCCS-J, MAAP Toolkit, TBMCS, C2Core, and KRADOS suite applications (e.g., JIGSAW, SLAPSHOT, C2IMERA), and Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS).

  • Navigate and apply understanding of Air Force programmatic, technical, and acquisition processes and systems to support AOC initiatives and enhancements.

  • Maintain and uphold security protocols, holding an active US DoD Secret Security Clearance with eligibility for Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) experience.

  • Lead multifaceted teams, set expectations, manage work, and inspire team members, demonstrating strong leadership skills in diverse and dynamic environments.

  • Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effectively interacting with senior Government officials and military officers to advocate for AOC program goals and initiatives.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications to document processes, generate reports, and present insights and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • AOC/USAF C2 subject matter expert, as an aviator, intelligence specialist, Air Battle Manager (ABM), or cybersecurity specialist.
  • Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 5+ years of experience. Equivalent experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • AOC experience in multiple CAF AOCs; branch chief experience desired: Combat Operations; Combat Plans; Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Division (ISRD); or Strategy Division.
  • Experience working in Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) and deep understanding of CAOC processes and procedures in support of execution of the Air Tasking Order (ATO) and Airspace Control Order (ACO).
  • Deep experience with all facets of US Air Force and joint service command and control (C2) operations and intelligence systems, plus expertise in AOC applications & technologies including Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J), Master Air Attack Plan (MAAP) Tookit, Theater Battle Management Core System (TBMCS), C2Core, and applications within the Kessel Run All-Domain Operations System (KRADOS) suite (e.g., JIGSAW, SLAPSHOT, C2IMERA, etc.), Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS), etc.
  • Experience/understanding of US Air Force/joint acquisition processes and systems.
  • Active US DoD Secret Security Clearance, Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)-eligible. Special Access Program (SAP) experience.
  • Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills. Experience interacting with senior Government officials and military officers.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills leading multifaceted teams, setting expectations, managing work, and leading individuals and teams.

 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • DAWIA Level 3 Acquisition Program Management Certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Lean Six Sigma (LSS) certification.
  • USAF Weapons School graduate or instructor experience.
  • Experience as an operational or training squadron commander and/or operations officer.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
