- Partner with dispatch in safely transporting material to and from transloading facilities
- Fuel and clean trucks; perform pre and post-trip inspections, complete paperwork, and reviews communication board
- Ensure that the truck meets or exceeds safe operational standards
- Report maintenance issues to the maintenance crew
- Understand critical service requirements and see they are met
- Maneuver and connect heavy hoses
- Complete required paperwork, including manifests, driver logs, recaps, accident reports
- Have basic knowledge of DOT regulations
- Interact with other Savage and customer management and personnel on a daily basis.; understand customer service and have strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills
- Class A CDL
- Six months of experience with pneumatic trailers and 53 ft. van trailers
- High School or GED
- Mountain driving experience in the snow and ice is preferred
- Clean driving record and ability to pass background check and drug/alcohol screening
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safety and following protocols
- Understanding of customer service principles
- Compliance with DOT regulations and completion of required paperwork
Physical Requirements of this role:
- Climb into and out of cab multiple times per shift
- Climb a ladder and work at heights if needed
- Lift 50 or more pounds occasionally
- Drive and work in adverse weather conditions
- Hook and unhook hoses and open and close valves
