We have a unique opportunity for an HR Labor Relations Business Partner based in the Long Beach, CA area (Wilmington). In this role, you will be responsible for administering, coordinating, and evaluating people-related needs and functions supporting multiple operating locations in the United States. Paid Parental and Uniformed Services Leave What You'll Be Doing: Guides leaders in employment law, union negotiations, and labor relations with an emphasis in California Collaborate with Recruiter/Generalist for effective recruitment Conducts assigned ethics and policy investigations Advises on Team Member relations, including coaching and performance management Oversee performance management and leadership development for compliance and equity Assists with workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and regulatory compliance Promotes Team Member engagement and diversity initiatives Monitors morale and engagement to uphold company culture Communicates policies and resolves conflicts with leadership and Team Members Supports and communicates company initiatives as needed Advises on restructuring, workforce, and succession planning Recommends career development and training plans for Team Members and Leaders Participates in special projects for Business Units and the People Group Enhances work relationships and morale with front-line leaders and Team Members Evaluate initiatives against established goals Provides HR policy guidance and recommends improvements Delivers targeted training for leadership and Team Members Requirements to Be Successful in This Position: Demonstrated experience supporting a workforce in California, with a strong understanding of California employment laws Background in corporate policies and best practices, with mid-level HR knowledge demonstrated through experience in coaching and counseling managers Innovative thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to develop and run basic reports and execute assigned projects Ability to travel 25% or more as needed Preferred Education/Experience: Required: Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is strongly preferred At least ten years of experience as an HR Generalist or Business Partner with increasing levels of responsibility Knowledge of labor law (multiple states in U.S. and Canada) and experience working with unionized workforces. Experience in industrial, manufacturing, supply chain, transportation, or logistics industries SHRM-CP or PHR certification #IND1
