As the Rail and Transload Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support in all aspects of rail operations and transloading activities. You will serve as a key resource within the company, offering insights, best practices, and strategic direction to optimize our rail and transloading operations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for rail and transloading-related inquiries, providing expert advice and solutions to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to rail transportation and transloading operations.
  • Provide strategic input and recommendations to enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of rail and transloading operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements, standard operating procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct audits and assessments of rail facilities, equipment, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Lead or participate in project teams tasked with implementing new rail facilities or improving existing infrastructure.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to employees involved in rail and transloading operations, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and regulatory meetings, advocating for the interests of the organization and staying informed of industry developments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in rail transportation and transloading operations, with a proven track record of success in a similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of rail operations, including safety regulations, equipment, infrastructure, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in railroad operations or transportation management is a plus.
