Savage is seeking for a Logistic Coordinator who will be responsible for managing and coordinating transportation and reporting activities among key Savage Customers. Using discretion and judgment, you will interface with and provide direction to Operations Supervisors and Team Members regarding schedules and dispatch. Additionally, you will create and maintain monthly driver schedules, tonnage reports, and key performance indicators.

What you'll be doing:
- Schedule daily truck movements to and from for multiple customers.
- Analyze workload and determine the appropriate number of trucks to dispatch to each refinery, based on production rates, driver availability, and customer requested volumes. Directly communicate with Customers daily regarding scheduling and dispatch; independently propose resolutions to Customer scheduling issues.
- Customer presentations are required. Assist with new driver interviews and provide recommendations on driver hiring Evaluate the performance of current drivers and determine adjustments to driver pay on a quarterly basis. Determine the proper number of drivers on each haul to satisfy customer demand.
- Independently coordinate and communicate directly with the various customer coordinators to accomplish the daily volume transportation plan. Create and maintain a monthly driver schedule. Independently resolve scheduling issues.
- Track daily trucking volumes. Troubleshoot and maintain hardware and software (Tablets, Aina Radio, Zello) used by all Team Members.
- Assist in tracking and analyzing performance (iSite and Geotab) to measure quality, adherence to standards, and identify re-training and process improvement opportunities. Recommend corrective action relating to driver performance, up to and including recommendations on all levels of discipline.
- Analyze current practices and recommend, implement, and execute on strategies and improvements on KPIs.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a logistics-related field or high-level administrative work. Transportation background preferred
- Intermediate knowledge in computers, including: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
- High school diploma required, post-high school education preferred. Knowledge of the English Language (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension). Communicate effectively through writing
- The ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information throughout the work day in order to make decisions and issue directives to resolve issues as they arise, to communicate clearly and professionally with Team Members and Customers. Must be able to multitask with the ability to prioritize, plan, and formulate deliverables in a timely manner to Management and Customers. Excellent analytical skills.
- Advanced knowledge of fleet operations, routing and dispatching applications, and on-board GPS systems.
- Fluctuating work schedule, which may include weekends and holidays as needed.
- Responsible for tracking railcar movements and waybills, and billing railcars. May need to travel to other Savage operations as needed.
