Job Description:

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, assessments, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluate the learning needs of the patient and family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Must complete all education assigned and required for the position, including classroom and online courses.

Job Qualifications:

Required Education

  • ASN – associate in nursing

Required License/Certification

  • Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina
  • BLS within 30 days of hire

Shifts: Nights, PRN

Required License

Valid licensure in the State of South Carolina as a Registered Nurse (RN) or COMPACT LICENSE

Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and Nursing Unit Director, perform nursing patient care duties for the assigned unit or department. Plan, provide and evaluate total nursing care by the established patient care philosophy. Facilitate individualized, goal-directed nursing care by using the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing by departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Relate effectively with other shifts for continuity of care, maintain satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing units, and participate in all phases of education.
