The bar back is an important role and should be passionate about working as part of a team to deliver excellent drinks and service to our guests. 


SUMMARY:

Our Shore Lodge, Whitetail Club Bar Backs are responsible for the support of our Bartenders, they have continuous guest awareness and continuous positive interactions with our members and guests.  Maintaining all bar inventory and cleanliness, changing kegs, collecting empty glasses, ensuring there is plenty of clean glassware, and re-stocking ice.


WHAT YOU GET TO DO:      

• Efficiently organize menu items from multiple stations with correct accoutrements for service delivery 

• Enter a room service order into the POS system and correctly tender them 

• Collect multiple parts of an order from different stations and place it on a service tray in the correct order

• Check dishes prior to delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature

• Assist in the final presentation of plates to the customer

• Bus tables and clear dirty dishes as needed, helping to keep a high standard of service in the lounge

• Conduct ‘hall sweeps', clear the halls of dirty dishes and spent room service orders

• Assist with opening and closing duties

• Restock glassware, bar with ice, liquor, wine, beer, etc.




Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Present quick and graceful delivery of orders to our guests with the utmost service quality

• Develop effective communication with fellow associates and kitchen staff

• Ability to recognize menu items as they are placed in the service window

• Maintain work stations, assist with side work, re-set of rooms

• Possess a functional knowledge of food preparation techniques 

• Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of organization and detail orientation

• Must be able to sustain a fast pace, while staying focused on the presentation of menu items 

• Take great pride in being the final ‘inspector' for our product, approving it before it goes to the guest

• Must be able to carry an oval tray and deliver food to our guests with accuracy and grace

• Lift supplies or equipment of thirty (30) pounds or more and able to count, read and write in English

• Frequent periods of pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching, stair climbing

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking and constant visual and hearing acuity

• Frequent agility and dexterity required

• Present a sense of maturity, leadership and professionalism

• A functional understanding of the front and back of the house operations
