Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 15 years US Navy Surface Warfare combat systems/platform/missile engineering experience with (AWS) design, development, and integration. (A combination of active duty/Industry/Civil Service is acceptable.)
  • Required specialized experience in combat systems integration, operations, and systems engineering in such programs as Aegis Combat and Weapon Systems; Aegis BMD Sea-Based Weapon Systems; Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC); and/or Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD).
  • Familiar with the concepts and principles of model-based systems engineering
  • At least two (2) years' experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Current Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering
  • Significant analysis experience


Responsibilities

Future Capabilities Planning for the Integrated Combat System and Aegis Weapon System (AWS) programs with Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) capability.  Provide senior systems engineering support to NSWCDD Integrated Combat Systems Department's (V Department) Future Capabilities Division providing technical support for both development and in service programs. This may include:  1) Leveraging technical knowledge of background USN program experience in conducting gap analyses on current systems and threats and provide insight on open computer program issues, technical briefs, and data analysis results and provide sound technical and programmatic recommendations to baseline senior leadership, 2) Communicating NSWCDD status, risks, and schedules with program office sponsors and also down flowing information to NSWCDD program team members and different organizations, 3) Researching and analyzing potential capabilities addressing capability gaps, 4) Support combat system level requirements development, utilize model-based systems engineering techniques/tools and collaboration between PARMs, and 5) Coordinating investigation and response of issues reported by the USN fleet for applicable programs.
