Description

Location: Virginia (Western Region) 

Schedule: 40 hours in a work week, which will include extended and overnight travel

Pay rate: $85,000/annually

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services/Social Sciences/Criminal Justice required. Master's Degree preferred in Human Services/Social Sciences/Criminal Justice field
• Knowledge of Evidence Based Treatment and Programs for Criminal Justice populations
• Experience providing oversight of multiple programs highly preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of management or supervision experience is required
• Corrections experience or experience directing services within a secure environment is desired
• Virginia Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) credentials must be earned within 2 years of employment as a condition of employment. Must maintain CSAC certification in good standing while employed

The Assistant Area Director is responsible for:

• Working closely with the Virginia Department of Corrections (VA DOC) personnel to ensure contract compliance, accountability, quality of care/fidelity, and customer satisfaction
• Requiring a high degree of responsiveness to include afterhours/on-call communications
• The implementation, administration, and monitoring of assigned correctional treatment programs in the western region as well as assisting the Area Director with sites needing special attention and acts as Area Director in the absence of the Area Director
