Location: Position is housed at the Middleton Jail and House of Correction, however service locations also include Essex County Pre-Release and Re-entry Center, Women in Transition Center, and Office of Community Corrections Centers, (OCC) in Salisbury, Lynn and Lawrence. Travel to all sites may be required. Mileage is reimbursed. 

Schedule: Full-Time position (40 hours per week), must be able to work schedule as it pertains to the service contract.

Pay Rate: $90,000 annually

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in criminal justice, human services, counseling, or closely related field
  • Licensure/certification in a clinical discipline preferred.
  • Three years of management experience is required, preferably managing multiple sites concurrently.
  • Must be able to travel throughout Essex County - driver's license and own vehicle required.

The County Administrator exists to provide administrative / operational leadership and oversight of substance use disorder treatment services to justice involved males and females at multiple locations under the jurisdiction of the Essex County Sheriff's Department.

Additional responsibilities of the County Program Administrator include personnel functions, serving as the single point of contact for Sheriff's Department officials, contract compliance and meeting and exceeding established operational benchmarks. 

The position requires a high degree of emotional intelligence, tact, commitment to staff professional development, and attention to detail and customer service. The County Administrator should have knowledge of, and experience with, evidence-based principles of offender rehabilitation, and gender responsive treatment.
