YOUR ROLE:
Our Maintenance Tech II performs routine and non routine complex maintenance on plant equipment and machinery. Maintenance Tech II's have the ability to work on more complex and specialized tasks that could include; electrical/electronic work, mechanics, welding, and machining

This is a full time position working 5am to 3:30pm Monday-Thursday with overtime required on Fridays.

Employee will need to be available for O/T during the week and/or weekends when needed to support production schedules and machine breakdowns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action.  Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Makes recommendations to Maintenance Supervisor about set up, maintenance schedules and processes, and potential outsourcing of maintenance projects.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance duties that include; machine lubrication, chemical changes in wash/dip tanks, belt changing, and equipment inspections to minimize repair cost and prevent equipment failures. 
  • Assist in the set up of new machinery and facility layout.
  • Work within the company maintenance tracking system to assist in maintaining a record of preventative and regular maintenance performed.
  • Communicates equipment failures and unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Directs other Maintenance Techs as needed.
  • Opens clogged drains, fixes leaks, and performs other simple plumbing jobs.
  • Assist with basic landscaping work as needed to include; pulling of weeds and brush, snow removal, salting of walkways, and other unskilled yard work.
  • Works with others to maintain a high value on a safe workforce. 
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the department.
  • Performs maintenance work to the maintenance processes to meet IATF 16949:2016 standards.
  • Participates in and supports the principles of Open Book Management.
  • Regular attendance and satisfactory performance of the above listed duties is also essential to this position. Mandatory overtime maybe required and is also essential to meeting customer and performance demands. 
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed with exposure to harsh conditions such as: dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures for extended periods of time. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear.  Sitting 10%, standing/walking 90%. Frequently lift and or move up to 35 pounds to 50 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of reliability. They will have motivation and drive to get the job done. They will be enthusiastic workers interested in growth and improvement. Other requirements include:
  • High School diploma or GED is required.  AA/AS in Maintenance Technology, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • Five (5) years previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Working experience with welding, electrical, plumbing, equipment installation, hydraulics, and air powered equipment required. 
  • Must be able to read machinery schematics and diagrams.
  • Cannot be afraid of heights.
  • Must be able to diagnose and perform complex maintenance solutions.
  • Must have general knowledge of equipment used in the building trades.
  • Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools.
  • Ability to be certified on company forktruck and scissorlift equipment.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task multiple maintenance projects/issues at one time.
  • Requires effective relationship management skills with co-workers in a team environment.
  • Basic computer literacy/experience required.  Must be able to operate within the PICK system and if necessary Web-enabled applications.

1st shift 5:00am to 3:30pm Monday-Thursday, Fridays 5am to 11am
2nd shift 3:30pm to 2:00am Monday- Thursday, Fridays 12pm to 6pm
Additional overtime required as needed
