POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Manager will lead and build the HR function at Genie Reconditioning from the ground up. As the first dedicated HR leader for this rapidly growing remanufacturing operation, this role is responsible for establishing scalable systems and policies while directly supporting plant leadership and employees across all levels. Key responsibilities include overseeing full-cycle recruitment, implementing training and performance systems, managing employee relations, ensuring compliance, and embedding the Great Game of Business (GGOB) principles as a foundational management and cultural framework. The HR Manager will play a critical role in scaling the workforce, culture, and people operations as the business expands.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Build and implement core HR systems, policies, and procedures tailored to the unique needs of a startup-style reconditioning operation
- Lead and execute expansion hiring plans to support rapid workforce growth—targeting skilled trades, production labor, engineering, and leadership roles
- Design and manage an end-to-end onboarding and orientation experience that reflects Genie's values and prepares employees for success in a team-based environment
- Serve as a trusted advisor to plant and corporate leadership on organizational planning, employee relations, talent development, and workforce strategies
- Embed Great Game of Business (GGOB) principles into the workplace culture, including open-book management practices, financial literacy training, and employee involvement in business decisions
- Develop retention strategies focused on career development, recognition, employee voice, and operational excellence
- Coach supervisors and managers on performance management, discipline, and communication to build leadership capability throughout the organization
- Lead compliance efforts related to OSHA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, I-9s, and internal audits
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and HR data systems
- Support benefits administration, employee engagement surveys, and workforce planning in collaboration with SRC Holdings and Genie North America HR partners
- Lead workforce analytics and HR reporting to provide actionable insights to plant leadership
- Participate in strategic planning, site layout expansion discussions, and resource forecasting
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role supporting a manufacturing or industrial operation
- Proven experience building HR processes, teams, or infrastructure from scratch.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale recruitment and workforce expansion
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment law, labor compliance, and HR best practices.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proficiency with HRIS, Microsoft Office, and analytics tools
- Hands-on, collaborative approach with the ability to balance strategic thinking and day-to-day execution
- Passion for developing people, improving processes, and fostering culture in a growth environment
- Experience with or strong interest in the Great Game of Business or similar open-book management models
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all QMS (Quality Management System) guidelines and regulations are followed
- All employees are required to follow and promote all company and regulatory safety and environmental standards and exhibit safe work practices at all times
- Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): Safety Toe Shoes, Safety Glasses, etc. required at all times in warehouse environment
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and continuous quality improvement objectives
- Actively participate in and support the principles of Open-Book Management
- Possess a positive attitude and promote a positive work environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an office/desk type setting. The performance of this position may occasionally require some exposure to atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures for short periods.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Intermittent physical effort with lengthy cycles: 70% sitting 30% standing/moving.
