Position Summary:

The Technical Support Analyst I is a support role within the Information Technology department. This role is responsible for providing hardware and software support to company users including office and warehouse employees. The Technical Support Analyst I will assist with managing the IT ticket system addressing hardware, software, and access related issues. 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support through remote access support, phone support, and in-person support for Springfield & Joliet users
  • The ability to successfully gather all required and relevant information, from users and systems, to troubleshoot tickets to completion.
  • Troubleshoot software and applications, including but not limited to: general PC/workstation support, basic network troubleshooting, and AV support. Able to assist with installations and upgrades of a wide range of software and applications.
  • Take ownership of all support tickets and effectively escalate when required.
  • Documentation of all resolutions and important information
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at a time and properly prioritize the order in which they are resolved
  • Responsible for researching and finding solutions with minimal supervision in order to adapt to unforeseen technical issues
  • Proactively support end users with current Windows systems by continuing to stay up to date on new releases and features
  • Some solutions to IT tickets, which may require the use of a ladder (6ft to 10ft), scissor lift for network related problems, and occasional travel to secondary location within in Springfield, MO and/or the Springfield Underground
  • Travel to Joliet, IL to provide IT support on a quarterly basis may be required
  • Assist IT Technician 2 and systems staff as tasks are assigned 

 

Working Conditions:

Work is performed mostly in a controlled atmosphere.  Some exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures—for short periods of time is possible. This position will be required to sit 60%, stand 20%, and walk 20% of the work day.  The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly for short distances is required. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear.  All employees are required to follow safety standards, adhere to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.

 

Job Specifications

Education & Experience:

  • 2 years' experience in an IT-related position 
  • PREFERRED: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and Server+
  • Working technical knowledge of: 
    1. Microsoft Office 2013-2022 and 365
    2. Set up desktop and laptop PCs running Windows 10 and 11 
    3. Basic Active Directory 
    4. Basic Windows Server 
    5. Basic Networking
    6. Label printers and hand scanners
    7. Desktop printers and office copiers
    8. PC peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, mice, speakers, microphones
    9. Third party applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Google Chrome, etc.
