Job Description
Department Overview
The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) function is a critical pillar of our global compliance framework and a key component of our client service offering within the fund administration business. As part of the wider Investor Services AML team, the Luxembourg office plays a central role in safeguarding the integrity of both our Luxembourg-based fund clients and our local fund administration operations.
Reporting directly to the Global Head of AML, the Luxembourg and European AML teams ensure that client and investor documentation consistently meets the highest standards of accuracy, accessibility, and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on function—every team member is actively engaged in daily investor processing, reviews, and operational deliverables, not solely oversight.
Beyond local responsibilities, the department contributes to global AML initiatives, providing oversight and collaboration across multiple jurisdictions where SS&C and our clients operate, including Bermuda, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Middle East, and the Cayman Islands.
About the Role
We are seeking an AML subject matter specialist to join as Associate Director. This is a high-impact role with both operational and strategic responsibilities. In this role you will:
- Participate with a larger team performing standard and daily processing of client and investor due diligence, transactions, and documentation.
- Act as a key escalation point for AML referrals from associated investor services teams.
- Monitor service level agreements, workflow tools, and evolving local regulations, ensuring operational excellence.
- Contribute to global AML projects, shaping best practices across multiple regions.
- This position offers exposure to complex international structures and the opportunity to work with peers in AML across a global group.
Your Responsibilities.
- Due Diligence & Monitoring: Conduct trade and file reviews, ensuring AML policies and procedures are rigorously applied.
- Operational Delivery: Drive daily investor processing tasks with precision and timeliness.
- Reporting & Analytics: Prepare MIS reports for local and global management, providing insights into AML performance.
- Risk Identification: Review monitoring tools and reports to detect abnormal activity and escalate suspicious cases.
- Global Projects: Partner with senior AML management on cross-border initiatives and regulatory enhancements.
- Audit & Oversight: Support internal audits and external reviews, reinforcing the firm's reputation for compliance excellence.
Your Experience
- Extensive AML/KYC experience within financial services, ideally with exposure to fund administration.
- Deep knowledge of international AML standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong investigative and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of influencing stakeholders across jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to strategically plan while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Experience in training teams, acting as a trusted escalation point, and fostering a culture of compliance.
- Track record of contributing to internal audits and external regulatory reviews.
