The SS&C Algorithmics (part of SS&C Technologies Inc.) financial risk, regulatory and performance platform serves banking, insurance, asset management and hedge fund institutions. We partner with clients around the world to respond proactively and transparently to regulatory requirements and solve the most complex challenges in financial risk management and performance measurement.

About the Role

SS&C Algorithmics is seeking a highly motivated Financial Engineer that provides clients with a comprehensive range of skills to support the implementation of end-to-end financial risk solutions primarily in support of management and regulatory requirements.  Also, to provide clients with a comprehensive range of Financial Engineering skills to support them in the implementation of an Enterprise-Wide Risk Management system.   This role will involve the provision of support and consultancy to ensure our clients receive the best possible advice, guidance, and quality of service.

Your Responsibilities

  • Financial validation and modelling of clients' portfolios across the whole spectrum of Financial Instruments
  • Provide advice on the implementation of Risk Management Software to assess Market, Credit, Insurance, ALM & Liquidity Risk
  • Assist in both executing and advising on the implementation of projects. Most of this consultancy work is carried out on-site for the duration of the project.

Your Experience:

  • Knowledge of Financial Products and associated pricing methods.
  • Knowledge of Risk Management techniques including sensitivities, Stress Testing, Value-at-Risk, Expected Shortfall & Optimization
  • Knowledge of Statistics and generation of time-series based measures i.e. Volatility
  • Ability to work with functional and technical team on the delivery of implementation activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Office tools knowledge (spreadsheets for financial validation work, word processing for documentation, etc).
  • Programming skills for supporting data modelling (Shell Scripting, Visual Basic, Python) is advantageous.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of credit risk models such as Merton.
  • Knowledge of Economic and Regulatory Capital methodologies: FRTB, SA-CCR, CCR IMM
  • Knowledge of Stress Testing and Back-testing methodologies.
  • Experience in areas of Market Risk, Credit Risk or Liquidity Risk.
  • ALM and Liquidity Risk calculation and modelling.
  • Fluent written and spoken English/Italian
  • Other languages (preferably European) (advantageous)
  • Project work is largely client or office based, and the ideal candidate must be able to manage periods in client sites predominantly in mainland Europe and potentially support other global offices.
  • Degree or equivalent level in relevant subjects (Finance, Math, Economics, Business, mathematical engineering, etc.)
  • Masters/PhD in quantitative subject, preferred but not essential.
  • CFA, PRM or FRM designation(s) beneficial.
