The SS&C Algorithmics (part of SS&C Technologies Inc.) financial risk, regulatory and performance platform serves banking, insurance, asset management and hedge fund institutions. We partner with clients around the world to respond proactively and transparently to regulatory requirements and solve the most complex challenges in financial risk management and performance measurement. This team is seeking a highly motivated financial risk consultant to provide clients with a comprehensive range of skills to support the implementation of end to end financial risk solutions, primarily in support of risk management and regulatory requirements.

This role will involve the provision of support and consultancy to ensure our clients receive the best possible advice, guidance and quality of service. A project based role delivering product specialist knowledge in implementing Risk Management Solutions offered by SS&C Algorithmics focusing, but not wholly, on the SS&C Algorithmics Enterprise suite of Risk Management solutions.

What You Will Get To Do: 

• Involvement at all stages of project implementations, from scope definition through to acceptance testing while working within a multi-disciplinary team of integration engineers, project managers and other financial engineers

• Ability to lead gathering, overseeing, and implementing financial/risk/business requirements with direct relationship with the client

• Work with clients and prospects to gather and document business requirements

• Design solutions to address client business requirements

• Assisting clients implement firm-wide risk management processes and applications

• Assisting clients with financial modeling validation and verification during software implementation

• Facilitating the financial specification of new product features in accordance with client requirements

• Providing advice to clients on utilization of the software for various risk management objectives

• Documents and supports new products in accordance with client requirements

• Projects may range across market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk solutions for banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions

• Presentations to clients and internal audiences on Algorithmics functionality Competencies and Skills

• Provides services directly to clients according to pre-determined requirements and quality standards

• Escalates problems/issues promptly. Responds promptly to clients

• Applying additional expertise to take responsibility for more complex financial models and research to provide solutions according with client's expectations

• Support the preparation of documentation and training material during an implementation project

• Provides services directly to clients according to agreed scope, deliverables and/or service standards

• Listens carefully to client requirements and liaises with others to identify service issues and opportunities

What You Will Bring: 

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Applied Science, Statistics or other quantitative discipline

• Solid understanding of financial economics, actuarial models, financial mathematics, optimization and statistics

• Solid knowledge and experience of one or more of (a) market risk, (b) credit risk, (c) liquidity risk and liquidity regulatory requirements, (d) financial industry regulatory requirements in Brazil

• Topics of expertise required include financial instrument pricing (e.g. derivatives, bonds, equities and exchange rates), stochastic calculus, interest rate models, optimization and probability theories

• Strong presentation and communication skills. Clearly communicates efficiently and professionally to peers and manager

• Ability to discuss complex multi-solution technical/functional issues at a level to suit the audience using appropriate language and concepts

• Team-oriented, with ability to effectively build relationships both externally and internally

• Strong and proven investigation and problem solving skills. SS&C Algorithmics Risk Analytics clients face complex real world challenges and versatility in problem solving across domains is needed

• Programming experience (i.e. Visual Basic, Perl scripting) is a plus. Write straightforward scripts

• Familiarity with data base management systems (i.e. Sybase, Oracle, SQL) is a plus

• Proficiency in Portuguese and English is a must

• Confident, experienced client interaction at a senior level is a very important part of the role

• Familiarity in consulting or client services role

• Willingness and ability to travel is desirable

• CFA, FRM, FSA, MAAA or equivalent certification is a plus
