About SS&C:

Role Overview:

As a Scrum Master for our Data Platform team, you will be a servant-leader and coach for a cross-functional team delivering data services, pipelines, governance frameworks, and platform capabilities that support our superannuation products and clients. You'll guide the team in applying Agile principles, drive delivery excellence, and ensure alignment with broader business and technical strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews.

  • Coach and support the team to apply Scrum and Agile best practices, improving delivery velocity and quality.

  • Remove impediments and work with stakeholders across engineering, data governance, infrastructure, and product to unblock the team.

  • Champion Agile delivery of data platform initiatives, including data ingestion, transformation pipelines, platform automation, and metadata management.

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders  to refine and prioritize the backlog, ensuring clear and actionable user stories.

  • Monitor team performance metrics and continuously identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, and ownership within the team and across delivery streams.

  • Ensure regulatory and security standards are upheld in delivery practices, in line with SS&C's commitments in the superannuation industry.

  • Foster strong relationships with technical leads, architects, and business stakeholders to align priorities and manage dependencies.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead, ideally within a data or technology environment.

  • Strong understanding of data platform components (data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, data governance, cloud infrastructure).

  • Demonstrated experience facilitating Agile teams in a complex enterprise environment.

  • Solid knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent.

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences.

  • Experience in or exposure to the superannuation, finance, or regulatory domains is highly desirable.

  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM) or equivalent is preferred.

  • Communicate Effectively – Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently, both in written and verbal forms, across all levels of an organisation and all sizes of groups. Must also be able to listen to others and evidence that they have understood the needs communicated appropriately
