What You Will Get to Do:
Review and validate property-level financials, including general ledgers maintained by third-party property managers.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly closes in line with reporting deadlines.
Review lease-related accounting (e.g., rent escalations, straight-line rent, CAM reconciliations) and ensure compliance with policies.
Support acquisition and disposition activities, including transaction review, proration calculations, and accounting entries.
Coordinate with capital markets on debt-related activities, including borrowings, refinancings, covenant compliance, and lender reporting.
Act as primary liaison for third-party accountants and provide guidance on accounting policies, processes, and system usage (e.g., Yardi)
Review capital expenditures, WIP accounts, and capitalization to ensure proper accounting treatment.
Partner with asset management and fund accounting teams to support cash flow projections, reporting, and financial statement preparation.
Support audits and tax processes by providing required schedules, documentation, and responses.
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
3+ years of commercial real estate or property accounting experience
Strong understanding of property-level accounting concepts and financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi or similar systems preferred.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
