The Custom Engineering Services (Americas) team is seeking a Senior Custom Software Engineer who is excited about leveraging a spectrum of technologies to deliver meaningful solutions to clients in the financial services industry.
In this role, your responsibilities will encompass the entire project lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering to delivery and ongoing support. Custom Software Engineers play a pivotal part in bridging the gap between our clients and the technology that they need to be successful by analyzing, designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining the custom solutions that meet the unique needs of our customers.

What You Will Get To Do:

  •  Work together with business stakeholders, including banks, investment advisors, asset managers, and hedge funds, to understand their operational processes and challenges.
  • Develop custom solutions to streamline, integrate, and enhance existing workflows related to our company's financial software products and other client-side systems.
  • Collaborate closely with our team's Technical Project Managers to provide accurate estimates for projects of varying sizes, ranging from small enhancements to large-scale implementations.
  • Contribute to the creation of detailed specifications and documentation for client and internal teams.
  • Design, develop, and deliver scalable applications, custom reports, integrations, and automation solutions for global client environments.
  • Present project deliverables and timelines, ensuring alignment with expectations and business objectives.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing and coordinate user acceptance testing to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of solutions.
  • Provide developer-level training to clients on the design and implementation of custom solutions, utilizing a diverse range of programming languages and architectures.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies, sharing knowledge with internal teams to drive innovation and improve solution offerings.
  • Mentor junior team members to foster their professional growth and ensure project success.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of programming experience (C#, SQL, SSRS, JavaScript, Python, etc)
  • Proven experience in software development, with expertise in designing and implementing custom solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Proficiency in a variety of programming languages and development frameworks.
  • Aptitude for troubleshooting and analysis, coupled with strong resolution abilities.
  • Superior troubleshooting and analysis/resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated capability for self-direction, with the capacity to effectively operate autonomously.
  • Prior experience in financial services or related industries is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of the financial industry
  • Experience with complex domestic/foreign financial instruments
  • Working knowledge and experience with client/server applications and relational databases
