SCHEDULE: PRN/Per Diem

With 171 beds, the hospital's comprehensive services include advanced cardiac care at the Heart Hospital of Austin at St. David's Round Rock—the first specialized cardiac facility in Williamson County—with the only Hybrid Operating Room (OR) in the county; as well as emergency services in a 24-hour emergency department, including advanced trauma care with a Level II Trauma Center; St. David's Urgent Care Round Rock; and St. David's Emergency Center in Cedar Park. St. David's Round Rock Medical Center is also known for providing advanced orthopedic and robotic services, among other complex specialties. In 2016, the hospital received the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from Healthgrades and also earned a national distinction for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group.


POSITION SUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for conducting rounds on patients, performing assessments, coordinating and evaluating the plan of care, and implementing discharge plans at the direction and supervision of the Primary Physician permitted under Texas law.  The NP also administers medications/treatments and assists with procedures as ordered by the Physicians.  The NP works collaboratively with the healthcare team to assure the safe and accurate delivery of are.  While the NP is subject to practice under the protocols established and approved by the medical staff as required by Texas law, in all other respects the NP is subject to the Hospital's authority.  Assumes, under the direction of the Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

  EDUCATION: Required:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing 
  • Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Minimum of (1) year experience in ICU or Emergency Department setting
  •  

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:

 Required:

  • Licensed RN in the State of Texas.
  • BLS Certification at the time of hire.
  • ACLS Certification within (6) months of employment. 
  • ATLS Certification within (6) months of employment
  • DEA &DPS required to exercise prescriptive authority.
  Preferred:
  • PALS Certification
