Overview
The State Of Vermont is hiring for a Military Building Construction Specialist in Jericho. You'll be responsible for maintenance work and contractor oversight for the Vermont Military Department. Duties include engaging in multiple trades including, but not limited to, carpentry, HVAC, heating, and other maintenance related tasks at military facilities. Incumbent will also maintain the grounds, roads and training areas requiring snow removal in the winter months. May be responsible for operating heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers and heavy trucks equipped with plows and wings. Candidates should have considerable knowledge of various trades, in addition to safety procedures required when preforming construction and repair of facilities.

Work is performed in both office and field settings, outdoors and inside buildings. Manual dexterity may be needed to operate equipment and use tools. Incumbents must be able to life heavy weights. Travel of moderate distances will occur with some frequency.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School graduation or equivalent AND three (3) years in building construction, structural maintenance, building or machine repairs, INCLUDING one (1) year at a journeyman level.
Preferred QualificationsVocational training courses in construction or related field.
