The Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery is seeking applicants for seasonal employment. We are located at 367 Furnace Rd. Randolph Ctr., VT. The scope of work includes preparing grave sites for interment, hand mowing, string trimming, weeding, installation of gravestones, tractor mowing, and related duties. These positions are temporary seasonal hires with the State of Vermont, Office of Veterans Affairs. Positions start in May and run through October, hours and days worked may be negotiable.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, pruning trees and shrubs
- Ensuring headstones and burial sites are well groomed and free of overgrowth
- Operating equipment such as tractor, chain saw, leaf blower, mowers, etc.
- Assisting in preparing all burial sites in accordance with policies and procedures
Located in Randolph Center, the cemetery performs more burials a year than any other cemetery in the state. It is a beautiful location that honors the service of our Veterans by providing them perpetual recognition.Compensation
Minimum of $13.04 to $14.29/hour, depending upon previous experience.Minimum Requirements
High school or vocational school graduation, including at least one (1) year in industrial arts and/or mechanical repair type vocational training courses.
Note: In lieu of high school or vocational school graduation, a four year combination of education and work experience, including at least two (2) years at an apprentice level in building or mechanical repair will be considered qualifying.
