Description
Hartford County community-based hospital in CT seeks 1-2 OBGYN Laborists as soon as possible. This position involves 2 14-hour shifts weekly and 1 weekend day per month. Laborists would be responsible for private practitioners' patients and patients who walk in through the ED. The Hospital does about 800 deliveries annually, has 8 providers who admit to their facility, and has backup support from a large MFM group of 8 providers, 1 UroGyn and 1 GynOnc physician. The hospital has a level III nursery and all services in-house including anesthesia and pediatrics. They have LDRP suites and c-section rooms and they are a "baby-friendly" designated hospital.

The OBGYN group that admits here is also looking to add 1-2 providers. They are an 8-provider team and do 800 deliveries annually with a good mix of OB and GYN. They do a lot of GYN and are the only women's healthcare group in the area.
This large community is located on the banks of the CT River and is only 20 minutes from the coast and New London, a half hour to Hartford/Providence, and a little over an hour to Boston and Cape Cod. Outdoor activities abound, with great hiking, fishing, skiing, and all watersports. The community provides excellent public and private schools, restaurants, and easy access to the big cities.
