  Position Summary:   Oversees all clinical data registries and clinical performance databases both internal and external, and manages all clinical data analytics, including relevant HCA and local systems.  Monitors division and corporate clinical excellence and performance improvement initiatives and programs, including analyzing corporate and division dashboards.  Assures practices are evidenced-based and consistent with regulatory guidelines. Facilitates Using LEAN, Six Sigma and other quality improvement methodologies to process analysis of barriers, efficiency and opportunities.  Monitors key performance indicators and performance improvement including use of control charts, statistical analysis and gap detection.  Regular communication of PI and Quality/Safety activities to leadership and QM staff.  Utilize conceptual and diagnostic skills to prioritize and manage projects in an effective manner.  Coach and facilitate teamwork through communications to assure prioritized quality initiatives achieve optimal outcomes.

An acute care hospital with 408 licensed beds, annually Swedish cares for more than 200,000 patients with a team of approximately 2,000 dedicated employees, 300 volunteers and 1,400 physicians.

 

With stroke door to treatment times averaging just 20 minutes, Swedish serves as the Rocky Mountain Region's referral center for the most advanced stroke treatment, and was the state's first Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. Swedish also serves as the region's neurotrauma and orthopedic trauma provider and is the area's only level I trauma facility with a dedicated burn and reconstructive center. Over 150 facilities regularly transfer highly complex cases to Swedish.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or equivalent preferred

Education:                                  

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferable health care experience.  Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of four years of experience in healthcare and project management/data analysis

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Demonstrated experience in the application of quality improvement methods, including PDSA, LEAN, Six Sigma, Control Charts, data collection, analysis and reports
  • Highly developed problem solving skills, ability to manage programs and projects
  • Excellence in interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Experience in coordinating regulatory accreditation requirements
  • Ability to assess and analyze data
  • Knowledge of National Patient Safety Goals, requirements and implementation expectations
  • Excellence in utilization of statistical methods for data analysis, reporting and interpretation
  • Understanding of team dynamics
  • Strong coaching, teaching, and facilitation skills
