GENERAL POSITION PURPOSE:

This position utilizes knowledge of general ledger accounting practices, US GAAP and knowledge of accounts and systems to identify errors, omissions and discrepancies in general ledger accounts and financial reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, monthly reporting package and budget performance
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. GAAP, FASB), rules, regulations, and systems of internal control
• Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines
• Responsible for monthly closing of financial books timely and accurately including reviewing and documenting variances for management to ensure no omissions or errors in the transactions for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements
• Responsible for monthly projection of certain income statement accounts on a weekly basis
• Responsible for making timely and accurate manual journal entries in accordance with US GAAP, and internal controls
• Ensure all assigned balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly ensuring variances are researched and resolved timely
• Able to reconcile complex balance sheet accounts and determine journal entries for accruals requiring a high degree of judgment
• Answer email/phone inquiries from internal and external customers in timely and professional manner.
• Work closely with other departments (Operations and Sales) to ensure that there are no surprises during close.
• Ensure preplanning with other departments happen regularly for closes.
• Support internal and external audits as required.
• Initiate automation whenever deems fit to the manual processes. This can include special projects, implementation, analysis from systems, acquisitions, and divestitures.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documentation
• Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate controls and policies
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/business
• CPA License
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience of accounting / finance experience
