Candidates must have at least five (5) years of experience working for a multidisciplinary sedation dental care center, preferably affiliated with an academic health center or a dental school. Experience working and teaching in a postgraduate dental or general anesthesia program is preferred.
The Dental Anesthesiologist will direct patient care as anesthesiologist in our four-operating suite Sedation Center. The faculty will work with other dentists, specialists and residents who will provide a broad scope of dental and surgical care. The Center is designed to provide care to a diverse patient population, which includes, but is not limited to, patients with behavioral, developmental or intellectual disabilities; pediatric patients; adults with dental anxiety, fear or phobia; and those in need of complex oral surgical procedures. The selected faculty will also participate in didactic and clinical instruction for pre-doctoral/postdoctoral students and residents in local anesthesia and sedation techniques in addition to credentialing and C.E. for faculty of providing care in the Sedation Center. Knowledge of dental and medical insurance, credentialing, certification, and reimbursement for sedation care is necessary.
Candidates must be active clinicians and dental anesthesiologists who are certified by the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology or eligible for board certification. Eligibility for unrestricted licensure and General Anesthesia Permit in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is required. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
