The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Children's Hospital of Michigan (CHM) seeks a Pediatric Gastroenterologist with special training/expertise in Pediatric Hepatology to join our expanding team in Metro Detroit.

Opportunity Highlights:

Candidate Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology
  • Board Certified or Eligible in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology
  • Eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of Michigan

About the Division

TheDivision includes 6 board-certified pediatric gastroenterologists, one board certified pediatric hepatologist, 3 nurse practitioners, 5 clinical nurses, and 2 dietitians. The division has a well-established ACGME-accredited fellowship program. We accept one fellow per year.

The Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Program at Children's Hospital of Michigan is consistently ranked among America's best in the U.S. News & World Report for Pediatric Gastroenterology and GI Surgery Programs. The Division offers State-of-the-art technology for endoscopic procedures, breath hydrogen tests, pH/impedance monitoring, capsule endoscopy, percutaneous gastrostomy tube placement, variceal banding, and sclerotherapy. In addition, the Division offers motility studies including esophageal and anorectal manometry. Endoscopic procedures are performed at Children's Hospital of Michigan's main campus and at Children's Hospital of Michigan - Troy. The Division provides expertise to several interdisciplinary programs including: Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Program, Aerodigestive Disease Clinic, Intestinal Rehabilitation Clinic, and Pediatric Liver Disease and Transplant Program.

The Pediatric Liver Disease and Transplant Program at Children's Hospital of Michigan was established 10 years ago. The program provides a continuum of care for children and teens with liver disease. From expert evaluation and medical management of liver disease to living-donor and deceased-donor liver transplantation, Children's Hospital of Michigan is metropolitan Detroit's only pediatric liver transplant program and a leader in pediatric liver disease care. Children and families are cared for by a multidisciplinary team including specialists in pediatric hepatology and transplant surgery. The dedicated team includes pediatric nurse transplant coordinators, social worker, dietitian, pharmacist and a financial coordinator. Other pediatric specialists involved in the care of patients include specialists in gastroenterology, infectious diseases, hematology/oncology, psychology and pediatric anesthesia. Nurses and ancillary staff, including child life specialists, support the care of our patients and families in a family-centered care environment.
