Your Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and certified Asbestos Abatement Inspector to conduct thorough site assessments and sampling of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) at various locations throughout Missouri. The inspector will ensure compliance with state regulations, safety protocols, and certification standards to protect public health and safety. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, regulatory knowledge, and experience in asbestos inspection and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct site inspections and collect samples of suspected asbestos-containing materials in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Analyze and identify asbestos materials according to established procedures and regulatory guidelines.
Ensure all inspections and sampling activities comply with Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) regulations and applicable federal standards.
Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, sample locations, and recommendations.
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams regarding inspection results and necessary abatement actions.
Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during site visits.
Keep up to date with changes in asbestos regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
Assist in coordinating with asbestos abatement contractors and oversee abatement activities when necessary.
Qualifications:
Certification as an Asbestos Inspector by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) is required.
Proven experience in asbestos site assessment, sampling, and reporting.
Strong knowledge of asbestos regulations, safety standards, and sampling methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field environment.
Detail-oriented with strong observational and analytical skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position, typically 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, with flexibility to meet project demands.
Work involves travel to various sites across Missouri, including potentially hazardous environments requiring strict safety compliance.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, crawling in tight spaces, and carrying sampling equipment.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment for extended periods.
This position with Tetra Tech is temporary and on an "as needed" basis and will end. It is understood that your employment is to be on an "at will" basis.
