Tetra Tech's commitment to hiring the best talent in the industry and helping them thrive professionally is stronger than ever. We are currently seeking a motivated Assistant Engineer for our Parsippany, NJ location.
Responsibilities:
· Office work including, but not limited to:
o Assisting with preparation of engineering reports, designs and bid packages.
o Preparing engineering calculations.
o Preparing drawings/figures utilizing AutoCAD and related software.
o Assisting Project Managers with project management functions for various commercial/industrial clients.
· Support field investigation activities including, but not be limited to site inspections; field measurement and data collection including water or soil sampling; and oversight of subcontractor personnel.
Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
· Relevant academic course work in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
· E.I.T. certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong and creative problem-solving ability.
· Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AutoCAD; knowledge of Civil 3D, HydroCAD, HEC RAS, ArcGIS, and/or MS Project a plus.
· Demonstrated ability to use engineering computer programs for design.
· Able to work independently as well as part of a project team.
· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously including coordination and support for other disciplines.
· Availability to travel across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and sometimes nationally.
· A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
· Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
