Tetra Tech's commitment to hiring the best talent in the industry and helping them thrive professionally is stronger than ever. We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer/Renewable Energy Professional in either our Rochester, New York, or Rockland Massachusetts offices.

 

The ideal candidate shall be a self-motivated with 10 to 15 years of engineering experience including construction oversight, storm water management plans, civil engineering design including grading analyses, permitting and project management.  The candidate must have prior ground mounted solar engineering experience.

 

Your Role:

·         Engineering design for renewable energy and other projects.

·         Renewable Energy Construction Monitoring.

·         Client communications.

·         Report writing.

·         Project Management.

·         Leading and coordinating with multidisciplinary consulting teams.

 

Qualifications:

·         Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering

·         10-15 years experience of professional experience

·         Professional engineering license in New York, Massachusetts, Ohio and/or Illinois is required.

·         Experience with renewable energy projects, preferably solar in utility-scale and distribution generation projects.

·         Experience leading the site plan and zoning approval processes for renewable projects at the municipal level, preferred.

·         Experience leading the erosion and sediment control plan approval process for renewable projects through the county and state regulatory processes.

·         Understanding of surface water quality, stormwater quality and stormwater management in construction and post construction settings, hydrology and hydraulic analysis, and applicable rules and regulations.

·         Experience with planning, designing, construction and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure and BMPs, low impact development projects, and green infrastructure projects.

·         Experience with the design of stormwater management systems including hydrolgoic and hydraulic modeling.

·         Working knowledge of civil and environmental engineering principles including grading, site layout, wetland impacts, entrances, traffic, utilities, etc.

·         Working knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (e.g. HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, , ArcGIS, BlueBeam, etc).

·         Working knowledge of local, state, and federal water resources regulatory processes.

·         Proficient with AutoCAD civil 3D including corridors, pipe networks and grading is required.

·         Ability to work well independently and with project managers.

·         Ability to work on several tasks at any given time, works well with a team and mentors junior and mid-level staff.

·         Candidates shall have excellent analytical and organizational skills.

·         Candidates shall have excellent communications skills and work well in a team setting.

·         Proficiency with a variety of computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD) is required.

·         Prior experience with site development projects associated with solar energy projects, construction oversight, and permitting in New York State is desirable.

·         Prior ground mounted solar energy design and construction oversight experience is required.

·         40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus

·         A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.

·         Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

 

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 yr.

 

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
