Our office specializes in small to mid-sized projects for clients across Canada. The types of clients we work for include:

  • Heavy Industrial Facilities

Your Role: 

We are currently searching for a Civil Engineering Co-op Student to join our Civil/Structural team. The student will work closely with a group of engineering professionals and have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on engineering experience in a challenging and versatile engineering consulting working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with project team members to complete assigned tasks
  • Undertake calculations, analysis and simulations from basic or first principles following established design practices as directed by senior engineers
  • Prepares basic design and/or engineering reports when requested
  • Become familiar with and assist in the management of drawing and document lists, distribution matrices, squad check coordination and records management
  • Become familiar with applicable industry codes and standards
  • Preparing and managing material take-offs and requisition packages

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year Civil Engineering Program
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Civil Earthwork Design or equivalent considered an asset
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound judgement and initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others
  • Ability to summarize, organizational planning and problem solver
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deliverables on an ongoing basis

The hourly rate for this position is $25/hr. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)

Periodic travel within Canada to client sites and regional Tetra Tech offices may be required. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing and background checks may be required for our client worksites. As this position may be serving clients that have vaccination requirements for site access, we may be confirming your eligibility to comply with this requirement.
