Your Role:

Tetra Tech is seeking an Environmental Outreach and Training Specialist for their Chantilly, VA location to support a variety of federal government clients that administer environmental, emergency management, and grants programs. The position involves working in a team environment to support and meet the needs of multiple clients and projects. Responsibilities cover a range of activities, including scheduling and coordinating with speakers to conduct virtual meetings and webinars; planning and logistics to support in-person meetings; developing and implementing outreach, including preparing communications materials, website content, and social media; designing and developing training for government staff and stakeholders; conducting research and analysis; and supporting other program needs and client requests. The position involves working directly with clients, leading and managing tasks, and writing and identifying creative approaches and methods to accomplish client program objectives.

Ideal candidates will have experience supporting tasks under environmentally focused federal government contracts and be able to demonstrate skills with outreach and training development tools, such as those used to host webinars and develop eLearning courses. 
 

Qualifications:

  • Up to 3 years of experience in government consulting with experience addressing environmental issues and coordinating outreach and communications.
  • Experience coordinating with clients to design, schedule, and conduct virtual and in-person meetings is desirable, including support for developing agendas, identifying and coordinating with speakers, drafting correspondence, and tracking registration and participation.
  • Experience developing outreach products for target audiences is desirable; preferred candidates will have experience working with clients, subject matter experts, and project team members to create outreach materials in a variety of formats (for example, presentations, promotional flyers, listserv messages, formal correspondence, social media posts, webpage content, fact sheets, training materials, technical reports, etc.).

Desired Skills in the ideal candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Must be fluent in English and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills; writing samples may be requested.
  • Must have consistently strong organizational skills, demonstrate attention to detail, and follow through.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to manage time well and work on multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft 365 software.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an environmental, education, communications, or other relevant field.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Candidate will function in an office environment.
     

Work Environment:

  • A limited amount of domestic and international travel may be required, including 1-3 trips annually and typically 1-3 days maximum per trip.
